The Big Winners - The Nico Project and Scott Johnson The 2006 Salmon Derby to benefit the Nico Project was a great event. We'd like to thank the volunteers especially Randy, Kim, and Madison Cunningham. We'd also like to thank our great sponsors who donated so much to make this event what it was. John Scott owner of Scotty's deserves special thanks. He gave us the location and cooked the barbeque dinner for the 50+ derby competitors. 15 Salmon were caught by 14 people. See photos of the fish here. So if you caught a fish you won a prize. Scott Johnson took 1st place with a 31.9 pound monster. Salmon caught ranged from 14.5lbs to 31.9lbs. One angler brought in a 32 pound fish to weigh. Unfortunately he wasn't part of the derby (whoops). Great job to all the people that pitched in with prizes, took the time to fish, and volunteered to help out. We're one step closer to getting this project built thanks to all of you.
